Align vs Revolut Business: which fits a company paid in stablecoins
Revolut Business is often the better fit for a company registered in the UK, the EEA, Switzerland, the US, Australia or Singapore that wants cards, spend tools and published plans from £10 a month. Align fits companies paid in USDC or USDT, because money received lands as stablecoins and pays out in USD, EUR, GBP or AED (AED for companies outside the UAE) from accounts in the company's name.

The short answer
If your company is registered in the UK, the EEA, Switzerland, the US, Australia or Singapore and works mainly in fiat, Revolut Business is often the better fit. As of October 2026 it supports 25+ currencies, issues physical and virtual corporate cards, and publishes its plans: in the UK from £10 a month for Basic to £90 a month and up for Scale.
Revolut Business treats crypto as a Treasury feature for buying, selling and holding tokens, and its help center gives conflicting answers on sending and receiving crypto. Align is built for companies paid in stablecoins: money received into its named USD, EUR, GBP and AED accounts lands as USDC or USDT, and its eligibility is set by a list of excluded countries rather than a list of eligible ones. Align's AED accounts are for companies outside the UAE.
Who can open an account
As of October 2026, Revolut's help center sets eligibility by the country your company is registered in. The company must be registered there and able to prove a physical presence:
| Company registered in | Revolut help page, as of October 2026 |
|---|---|
| UK or EEA | UK site: the applicant may live in the UK, the EEA, the US, Australia, Singapore or India |
| US | US site: the applicant may live in 14 listed countries and regions, including Brazil, Canada, India, Japan, Mexico and the UAE |
| Australia | Australian site: the applicant may live in Australia, the EEA, the UK, the US, Singapore or Switzerland |
| Singapore | Singapore site: the applicant may live in Singapore, Australia, the US, the UK, the EEA or Switzerland |
Revolut's German site lists the EEA, the UK and Switzerland as places of residence for applicants from EEA-registered companies. Some territories are also covered, such as Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Revolut's Swiss site publishes Business plans from Fr 10 a month and a Swiss virtual IBAN, though its Swiss help page says only that the company must be registered in a supported country, without naming one. If your country isn't supported yet, Revolut says it adds your application to a waiting list.
Industries. Revolut lists industries it doesn't support, including unregulated or high-risk financial services and precious metal and stone dealers. For crypto, it accepts companies that accept or pay with cryptocurrency, NFT platforms, regulated custodial and non-custodial wallets, and blockchain technology providers. It doesn't accept crypto exchanges, brokers and dealers, on- and off-ramp providers, or crypto mining, investment or trading firms. A Revolut Business account can't be used to hold or move client funds.
Align. Align doesn't publish a list of eligible countries. Its docs list the jurisdictions it doesn't onboard, among them Russia, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela, and it doesn't onboard companies based in the UAE. Its account pages are written for companies based outside each currency's home market, such as a EUR IBAN for a company outside the EU.
Account details by currency
Revolut's help center lists which local account details a Business account gets, by where the company is registered. As of October 2026:
| Registered in | Local account details | Other currencies |
|---|---|---|
| UK | GBP sort code and account number; USD account number, ACH routing number and wire routing number on the Grow plan or above | SWIFT details |
| EEA | GBP sort code and account number; EUR Lithuanian IBAN for transfers within the EEA (a Dutch IBAN for companies moved to its Netherlands branch) | SWIFT details |
| US | USD account number, ACH routing number and wire routing number; GBP sort code and account number | SWIFT details |
Revolut's UK multi-currency page says you can receive unlimited incoming transfers in GBP, EUR, USD and CHF at no extra cost.
Plans and published fees
Revolut publishes its plans. As of October 2026, its UK and US pricing pages list:
| UK | US | |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | £10 a month | From $10 a month |
| Grow | From £30 a month | From $40 a month |
| Scale | From £90 a month | From $140 a month |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom |
| Exchange at the interbank rate each month (Basic, Grow, Scale) | £1,000, £15,000, £60,000 | $1,000, $20,000, $80,000 |
| Exchange over the allowance | 0.6%; 1% outside market hours | 0.6%; 1% outside market hours |
| No-fee international transfers each month | 0, 5, 25; then £5 each | 0, 5, 25; then $5 each |
| No-fee local transfers each month | 10, 100, 1,000; then £0.20 each | 10, 100, 1,000; then $0.20 each |
Revolut adds that other specific fees apply to SWIFT OUR transfers. The UK page says annual billing saves up to 14% on Grow and up to 28% on Scale. Align's pricing is quoted on request: contact the team.
Crypto and stablecoins
Revolut Business offers crypto in its Treasury section. As of October 2026:
- Investing. Revolut's Crypto for Business page (Irish site) offers 220+ tokens to buy and sell. Before using crypto, a business answers investment allocation questions, passes a risk assessment and, as a new user, waits 24 hours.
- Custody. Revolut says it doesn't issue individual wallets: purchased crypto sits in a pooled account of hot and cold wallets, and Revolut's own ledger records your holding.
- Converting. You can sell crypto to fiat in the app in a few seconds. Revolut limits accounts to 200 exchanges across fiat and crypto in any 24 hours.
- Deposits and withdrawals. Help articles explain how to receive crypto from an external wallet, with no maximum, a minimum amount for each token and no Revolut fee (network fees are deducted), and how to send crypto to an external wallet. Both cover only certain tokens on certain networks, and Revolut gives USDC on Ethereum and Polygon as its example.
- A conflicting article. Another article in the same help center, "Why can't I send and receive crypto to my Business account?", says: "You can't receive cryptocurrencies from other accounts and you can't send cryptocurrencies from your Revolut Business account." Check under Treasury in the app, or ask Revolut, before you plan payments around it.
- Crypto proceeds. Revolut says businesses may not transfer in funds that originated from dealing or trading in cryptocurrency, as that's against its terms.
In the UK, Revolut says cryptocurrency isn't a regulated product, funds received for crypto transactions aren't safeguarded, and crypto it holds for you isn't covered by the FSCS. In the EEA, its crypto products may be provided by Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd, licensed in Cyprus as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA.
Align works differently: the balance itself is held in stablecoins. Money received in USD, EUR, GBP or AED lands as USDC or USDT, and supplier payments are converted from it as part of the payment. If stablecoins are new to your company, USDT vs USDC for business covers the choice of token.
Cards, spend and getting paid
Most of Revolut's plan page covers spending and collecting. As of October 2026, its UK page lists:
- Cards. Up to 3 physical and up to 50 virtual corporate cards per team member, spending in 150+ currencies, and card controls by limit, category and currency. ATM withdrawals carry a 2% fee.
- Spend tools. Expense management for £8 per person a month, bill pay and purchase orders on every plan, and custom approvals from the Grow plan.
- Accepting payments. Payment links, invoices, Tap to Pay on iPhone, Revolut Pay and card terminals, with acceptance fees from 0.8% + £0.02.
- Integrations. Xero, Sage and QuickBooks, HR platforms, and a Business API from the Grow plan.
Licenses
Revolut serves business customers through different entities by region. As of October 2026:
- UK. Revolut Bank UK Ltd is authorized by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the PRA and the FCA (registration 981170). Revolut says eligible businesses with a UK registered address move to it from Revolut Ltd, an FCA-authorized e-money institution; accounts registered in Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man or Gibraltar stay with Revolut Ltd for now. Once moved, eligible deposits up to £120,000 for a limited company are protected by the FSCS, and some kinds of business, such as financial institutions, are excluded.
- EEA. Revolut Bank UAB is authorized and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania and the European Central Bank.
- US. Revolut Technologies Inc. describes itself as a technology services provider and program manager of the card program. Business prepaid Visa and Mastercard cards are issued by Lead Bank, Member FDIC.
To see which entity holds your account, Revolut points to the footer of your Business account statements.
Align isn't a bank. Align Payments Ltd. is registered with FINTRAC in Canada as a money services business (registration no. N300000203), and its regulated services are provided through licensed financial institutions, its banking partners. Align isn't authorized under MiCA.
Which one fits
Revolut Business is likely the better choice if:
- your company is registered in the UK, the EEA, Switzerland, the US, Australia or Singapore
- you want corporate cards, expenses, bill pay and payment acceptance in one app
- you hold or exchange many currencies, and want published plans and allowances
- you want an account held with a bank in the UK or the EEA
Align is designed for a company where:
- customers pay in USDC or USDT, or the treasury holds stablecoins
- bank payments received in USD, EUR, GBP or AED should land as stablecoins (AED accounts are for companies outside the UAE)
- the company is registered in a country Revolut Business doesn't support yet (check its site for your country), and isn't in one Align excludes
- suppliers are paid in fiat from a stablecoin balance, converted as part of the payment

Align's virtual accounts are permanent: each is issued to one customer and stays assigned for future payments, with your company shown as the account holder. For USD you get a US account number and routing number for ACH and wires, plus a named account for SWIFT. ACH and wire access isn't switched on automatically: you request it, and the US banking partner runs a second review after Align's KYB. The partner can decline or set limits.
Payments to suppliers go through your named virtual account, the stablecoin is converted as part of the payment, and Align may ask for the invoice behind it. USDT can be received on Ethereum, Tron, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum or Optimism, and USDC on Ethereum, Solana, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism or Avalanche. Align doesn't issue stablecoins.
You can create an account online in a few minutes and upload documents in 5 to 10 minutes, and Align's compliance team reviews them in 1 to 5 business days. See the prohibited and restricted use list for the countries and activities Align doesn't support.

Common questions
- Can Revolut Business receive USDT or USDC from customers?
- As of October 2026, Revolut's UK Business help center explains how to deposit crypto from an external wallet, with USDC on Ethereum and Polygon as its example, and shows the full token list in the app. Another article in the same help center says a Business account can't receive crypto from other accounts or send it. Revolut also says funds that originated from dealing or trading in crypto can't be paid into a Business account. Confirm in the app before you invoice in stablecoins.
- Can a company registered outside the UK or the EEA open Revolut Business?
- As of October 2026, Revolut's regional help pages accept companies registered, with a physical presence, in the UK, the EEA, the US, Australia or Singapore, and the person applying must live in a supported country. Its Swiss site also publishes Business plans in Swiss francs and a Swiss virtual IBAN, though its Swiss help page doesn't name the supported countries. If your country isn't supported, Revolut adds the application to a waiting list. Align doesn't publish a list of eligible countries; it doesn't onboard companies in the countries on its prohibited list or companies based in the UAE.
- How much does Revolut Business cost?
- On Revolut's UK pricing page, as of October 2026, Basic is £10 a month, Grow from £30 and Scale from £90, with Enterprise priced on request. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of exchange at the interbank rate (£1,000, £15,000 or £60,000), then a 0.6% fee, or 1% outside market hours. US plans are from $10, from $40 and from $140 a month. Align's pricing is quoted on request.
- Is Revolut a bank? Is Align?
- In the UK, Revolut says Revolut Bank UK Ltd is authorized by the PRA and regulated by the PRA and the FCA, and that eligible UK-registered business accounts move to it from Revolut Ltd, an e-money institution. Its EEA pages name Revolut Bank UAB, authorized by the Bank of Lithuania and the European Central Bank. Align isn't a bank: Align Payments Ltd. is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business (N300000203), works through licensed banking partners and isn't authorized under MiCA.
