A template for each method
Download a sample file for the way you're paying, with the right columns and formats. Common header names such as "company" or "sortcode" are recognized, and semicolon-separated Excel exports work too.

Every row goes through the same checks as a one-off payment. A row that would fail is an error you fix before the batch can be submitted.
A second look by AI
AI flags rows that look wrong, such as an amount ten times the others, a near-duplicate, or an IBAN from a different country than the one given. It can add a warning, never approve a row.
Tracked to the last payment
Follow every payment in the batch from one page, each linked to the payment that went out.

Common questions
What file do I need?
A CSV. Download the sample for the way you're paying to get the right columns. Files exported from Excel with semicolons work too.
What happens to rows with mistakes?
Errors stop the batch until you fix them. Warnings, such as an unusual amount, can be acknowledged and sent anyway.
Is recipient data shared with the AI review?
Only what the checks need. Account numbers are masked to their last four digits and street addresses are removed before the review.
Can I pay bank accounts in bulk?
Yes, on request, for accounts with a bank balance. Align's team runs those batches. Talk to us to set it up.
Do batches need approval?
If your business requires approval for members' payments, a member's batch is judged by its total.
