Can I send USDT on Tron to someone's Ethereum address?
Not directly. A transfer happens on one network, and the recipient needs an address on that same network. Tron addresses start with T and Ethereum addresses with 0x, so most wallets reject the mix. To move value between networks, you need an exchange or provider that supports both.
The wider picture
The key points from the guide this answer comes from:
- Send on the network the recipient names, and only if your own wallet or provider supports it too.
- USDT mostly moves on Tron and Ethereum, which hold about 90% of its supply. USDC sits mostly on Ethereum, then Solana, Hyperliquid and Base.
- Costs and confirmation times differ far more between networks than between the two tokens, and fees change by the hour.
- USDT on Tron and USDT on Ethereum are separate tokens: you can't receive one at an address on the other network.
