Align's MCP server for AI assistants
Connect Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any assistant that supports remote MCP servers, and it can look up live stablecoin network fees, check IBANs, read payment rail holidays, search the MiCA register and Align's guides. Free, read-only, no API key.

Connect it
The server uses MCP's Streamable HTTP transport at https://alignlabs.dev/api/mcp.
- Claude (web and desktop): in Settings, under Connectors, add a custom connector with the URL above.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http align https://alignlabs.dev/api/mcp
- Cursor: add it to
~/.cursor/mcp.json:{ "mcpServers": { "align": { "url": "https://alignlabs.dev/api/mcp" } } } - VS Code: add it to
.vscode/mcp.json:{ "servers": { "align": { "type": "http", "url": "https://alignlabs.dev/api/mcp" } } }
Tools
- Stablecoin network fees (
stablecoin_network_fees). What one USDT or USDC transfer costs in network fees right now, in USD and the network's own token, on Tron, Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, Avalanche and Aptos, with typical time to finality. Refreshed every 10 minutes. Network fees only, not any provider's pricing. - Check an IBAN (
check_iban). Validate an IBAN's country code, length, format and check digits for any of the 89 IBAN countries, and name the bank behind its bank code (name, BIC, head office) where the directory has it. A valid IBAN doesn't prove the account exists or belongs to the payee; confirm the account holder's name before paying. - Payment rail holidays (
payment_holidays). Weekday closures in 2027 for US rails (Fedwire and FedACH, Federal Reserve holidays), euro rails (TARGET/T2 closing days) and UK rails (CHAPS and Bacs, England and Wales bank holidays), with what keeps running and the official sources. - MiCA e-money token register (
mica_stablecoin_register). Issuers of e-money tokens (EU-authorized stablecoins such as EURC and USDC) on ESMA's interim MiCA register: legal and commercial name, home member state, supervisor, type of institution and white papers. Optionally filter by name. - Search Align's guides (
search_guides). Find Align's sourced guides on cross-border business payments: SWIFT, SEPA, ACH, Fedwire and UK rails, business accounts for non-resident companies, stablecoins (USDT, USDC, EURC), and rules such as MiCA, the GENIUS Act, the Travel Rule and DAC8. Returns each guide's answer in two sentences and a markdown version to read in full.
The same data is on the website: the stablecoin fee tracker (also as JSON), the IBAN checker, the payment holiday calendars, the MiCA register and the guides, each also as markdown. Site-wide context for language models is in llms.txt.
Protocol details
- Protocol versions 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26, negotiated at initialize.
- Stateless: no sessions, and each request gets one JSON response. GET returns 405, as the transport allows.
- Every tool is marked read-only. Tool results carry both text and structured content.
Building payments into your own product? AlignConnect is Align's API for platforms, with named IBANs, collections, payouts and FX.
Common questions
- Does the MCP server need an API key?
- No. Every tool is a read-only lookup over data Align already publishes on its website, so there's nothing to sign in to.
- Can it move money or see my account?
- No. It has no access to Align accounts or payments. To move money programmatically, platforms use the AlignConnect API, which needs an agreement and API keys.
- Does Align store what I ask?
- The server doesn't store requests. An IBAN you check is validated and its bank code looked up, then discarded.
