Key takeaways
- After you send a payment from AlignPay, you can let the recipient follow it: email them, copy a tracking link, or share it on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- The link opens a status page that shows who is paying, the amount and where the payment stands. It never shows your balance, fees, email address or full account numbers.
- An email to the recipient goes out only once the money has left your account, never for a payment that may still be stopped, and never for one that failed or came back.
- A link lasts 180 days and can be turned off at any time.
The short answer
When a payment is sent in AlignPay, the done screen offers Let them know, which emails the recipient, along with Copy tracking link, WhatsApp and Telegram. The recipient opens a simple status page that says who is paying them, how much, and where the payment stands, and updates until it's finished. It saves the "has it been sent yet?" emails, and gives your supplier something better than a screenshot.
How to share a payment
- Send the payment as usual, to a bank account or a wallet.
- On the done screen, choose how to tell them:
- Let them know emails the recipient a link. Tick the option to remember their address, and the next payment to them fills it in.
- Copy tracking link to paste it into your own email or chat.
- WhatsApp or Telegram to share it directly.
- Later, you can copy the same link again, or turn it off.
Replies to the email go to you, not to Align.
What the status page shows
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | The payment is set up but hasn't left your account yet |
| Sent | The money has left your account |
| Delivered | A stablecoin payment confirmed on its network |
| Returned | The payment came back to you |
| Not sent | The payment didn't go out |
The page refreshes on its own every 30 seconds until the payment is finished. It never shows fees, balances, your email address, full account numbers or the details of the account you paid from.
When the email goes out
An email to the recipient goes out only once the money has actually left: a payment waiting for a signature, or one that could still be stopped, waits. Failed and returned payments are never announced. Each payment sends one email at most.
Why it helps
- Fewer chasers. The supplier can check the status themselves.
- Better payment records on their side. The amount and date are on the page, so their accounts team can match the payment.
- A safer channel. The link comes from Align, not from a document someone could edit.
If a supplier says a payment hasn't arrived, the link shows them what you see. For SWIFT payments, see also how to track a SWIFT payment.

Common questions
- What does the recipient see?
- Who is paying them, the amount, and the payment's status: scheduled, sent, delivered (for a stablecoin payment confirmed on the network), returned or not sent. A bank payment shows as sent, never as arrived, because the receiving bank doesn't tell us when it credits the account.
- Can I send the link for any payment?
- For payments to someone else: bank payments, payments to wallets and payments to another network. Moves between your own accounts and payments you received can't be shared.
- Can the recipient stop the emails?
- Yes. Every notice has an unsubscribe link, and recipients can opt out of further notices from Align.
- Can recipients of a bulk payment be told too?
- Yes. Add an email column to the bulk payment file, and each recipient is emailed once their payment has left.
