Wise Business alternatives for companies paid across borders

Wise Business publishes its fees and gives account details in 22 currencies, but it doesn't issue USD details for addresses in some countries and doesn't serve businesses that trade crypto. Airwallex and Revolut Business fit fiat companies in their eligible countries; Align fits companies paid in USDC or USDT that want named USD, EUR, GBP and AED accounts (AED for companies outside the UAE).

The short answer

Wise Business publishes its fees, gives account details in 22 currencies and lets you hold 40+, so for many small companies it's hard to beat. Businesses look elsewhere when Wise won't issue USD account details for their country, when fees on incoming wires add up, or when they work with crypto, which Wise doesn't support.

The main alternatives are Airwallex, Revolut Business, Payoneer, Mercury and Align. Airwallex and Revolut Business fit companies that work in fiat and are registered in their eligible countries. Align fits companies paid in stablecoins: it gives named USD, EUR, GBP and AED accounts in your company's name, and money you receive lands as USDC or USDT. Align's AED accounts are for companies outside the UAE.

Why businesses look for a Wise Business alternative

Wise's own pages set out the reasons most comparisons turn on. As of October 2026:

USD account details by country. Wise's help center says you can't get USD account details if your address is in countries including Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Türkiye or the UAE. It adds restrictions for business accounts where the business or the person opening it has an address in Bangladesh, Cameroon, China, Nigeria or Pakistan. Wise also lists 21 countries it doesn't support at all, plus five regions of Ukraine.

Fees on incoming wires. Receiving ACH is free for most businesses, but every USD wire or SWIFT payment costs 6.11 USD on arrival, and correspondent banks can deduct their own fees before that. For a company paid by wire from many countries, that's a fixed cost on every invoice. Wire fees explained covers who pays which fee.

Crypto. Wise says: "We don't support businesses that are involved in the exchange or trading of cryptocurrencies, or any virtual currencies." It also says you can't send money to crypto exchanges, and that it may close a business account over crypto activity. So Wise isn't built for a company paid in USDT or USDC.

Airwallex is the closest match to Wise for a company that wants more around its accounts: local details in 20+ currencies, Visa cards, expense management, bill pay, and accounting integrations with Xero, QuickBooks and NetSuite. Its eligibility list includes India, Brazil and Mexico, but not Pakistan, Nigeria or the UAE. See Align vs Airwallex.

Revolut Business suits companies registered in its supported countries that want cards, spend tools and a monthly plan. A UK company gets GBP details and, from the Grow plan, USD account and routing numbers. See Align vs Revolut Business.

Payoneer serves freelancers and online sellers as well as companies, and gives receiving details in 13 currencies, including AED. Its receiving accounts only accept business payments, and an annual fee of 29.95 USD applies if you receive less than 6,000 USD in any 12 months. See Payoneer alternatives.

Mercury offers free USD ACH and wires, but only to companies formed in the US or a US territory, so a company registered elsewhere has to form a US entity first. See Align vs Mercury.

Align is a business account built on stablecoins, for companies paid across borders. It gives named USD, EUR, GBP and AED accounts in your company's name, and holds your balance in USDC or USDT.

Which one to choose

Want more currencies, cards and accounting integrations, and are registered in an eligible countryAirwallex
Are a UK, EEA, Swiss, US, Australian or Singaporean company that wants monthly plans and cardsRevolut Business
Are a freelancer, or sell through marketplacesPayoneer

If none of these apply, Wise Business may still be the simplest choice. Our Align vs Wise Business comparison sets the two side by side.

Where Align fits

Align is a fit if you're a registered company and:

  • customers or partners pay you in USDT or USDC, or your treasury holds stablecoins
  • you need named accounts in your company's name: a USD account for ACH, Fedwire and SWIFT, a EUR IBAN for SEPA and SEPA Instant, a GBP account for Faster Payments, or an AED account for IPP and UAEFTS (for companies outside the UAE)
  • you pay suppliers in fiat from a stablecoin balance, converted as part of the payment

It isn't a fit if you're a freelancer paid as an individual, need cards or accounting sync, or want published per-payment pricing.

Rails. USD SWIFT reaches more than 180 countries. ACH and wire access isn't switched on automatically: you request it, and Align's US banking partner runs a second review after Align's KYB. The partner can decline or set limits.

Stablecoins in and out. Money you receive lands in your balance as USDC or USDT. You can pay out in USD, EUR, GBP or AED, or send USDC and USDT to wallets. To pay a supplier, the stablecoin is converted as part of the payment and sent from your named account, and Align may ask for the invoice behind it.

Onboarding. You create an account online in a few minutes and upload documents in 5 to 10 minutes. Align's compliance team reviews them in 1 to 5 business days. Align doesn't onboard companies based in the UAE, and its prohibited list names 19 jurisdictions, including Russia, Iran and Venezuela.

Align Payments Ltd. is registered with FINTRAC in Canada as a money services business (registration no. N300000203), and regulated services are provided through licensed financial institutions. Align isn't a bank and doesn't issue stablecoins. Pricing is quoted on request: contact us.

Common questions

What is the best Wise Business alternative?
It depends on what Wise doesn't do for you. Airwallex suits companies in its 69 eligible countries that want more currencies, cards and integrations. Revolut Business suits companies registered in the UK, the EEA, Switzerland, the US, Australia or Singapore that want monthly plans and cards. Payoneer serves freelancers as well as businesses. Mercury is only for companies formed in the US. Align holds your balance in stablecoins, behind named USD, EUR, GBP and AED accounts.
Which alternative works if Wise won't give my business USD account details?
Wise's help center says you can't get USD account details if your address is in countries including Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Türkiye or the UAE. Payoneer covers 190+ countries and territories. None of those countries is on Align's prohibited list, but Align doesn't onboard companies based in the UAE. Every company goes through a KYB review, and Align's US banking partner runs its own review before switching on ACH and wires.
Is there a Wise Business alternative that works with crypto?
Wise says it doesn't support businesses involved in the exchange or trading of cryptocurrencies. Align holds balances in USDC or USDT and receives USDC, USDT and EURC. Revolut Business lets you buy, sell and hold crypto, and Payoneer is rolling out a stablecoin wallet powered by Bridge.
Is Wise Business cheaper than the alternatives?
Wise publishes its fees per payment: in the UK, a one-time 50 GBP setup fee, 6.11 USD for each USD wire or SWIFT payment received, and no monthly fee. Airwallex's UK plans cost £0 to £49 a month, Revolut Business starts at £10 a month in the UK, and Mercury lists a free plan. Align quotes pricing on request. Which one costs least depends on how you get paid, so price your own mix of payments.
